The Quadra Island Economic Diversification Roadmap is now complete. Developed over the past year, the roadmap brings together community knowledge, Indigenous perspectives, and local research to clarify shared priorities for Quadra’s economic future.
Through surveys, workshops, interviews, and ongoing dialogue, residents, business owners, community organizations, and partners described both the pressures facing the island and the values they want to protect. The roadmap reflects a shared understanding that economic diversification on Quadra Island is not about growth for its own sake, but about balance, continuity, and care—supporting livelihoods that fit island life while safeguarding environmental health, social wellbeing, and community cohesion.
